Construction of Phase 1 of the Salt River Ecosystem Restoration Project
The bid process to select a contractor for construction of Phase 1 of the Salt River Ecosystem Restoration Project has been completed and Anderson Dragline of Gridley, California selected as lowest, responsive, responsible bidder.
The bid process started with letters inviting statements of qualifications from 70 contractors throughout California, Oregon and Washington. Twenty-three contractors submitted their qualifications for consideration. Statements of qualifications submitted by ten contractors clearly demonstrated the experience and capacity necessary to bid and complete the project.
Those ten qualified contracting firms included; Maggiora and Ghilotti, Mercer Fraser Company, Kerr Contractors, Hanford ARC, Anderson Dragline, The Dutra Group, Dixon Marine Services, Magnus Pacific, R.E. Staite Engineering and Knife River Materials.
Bids were received from five contractors. The bid amounts, ranked from lowest to highest, are as follows:1) Anderson Dragline; 2) Magnus Pacific; 3) Knife River Materials; 4) Kerr Contractors; and 5) Mercer Fraser Company. The two lowest bids fell within the funding available and budgeted for construction of Phase 1 of the project. The remaining three bids had price tags that exceeded the project’s Phase 1 construction budget.
With the selection of Anderson Dragline as the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, Phase 1 of the Salt River Ecosystem Restoration Project will begin after more than two decades of planning, fundraising and perseverance. Thank you and congratulations to each and every one of you who has worked so hard for so long to restore the Salt River!
