What is the North Coast Soil Hub?

The North Coast Soil Hub is a collaboration group of north coast Resource Conservation Districts (RCD) including Humboldt County RCD, Gold Ridge RCD, Lake County RCD, Marin RCD, Mendocino County RCD, Napa County RCD, and Sonoma RCD. Together, we aim to:

Support producers directly

Directly support producers in making decisions that promote soil health and diverse agroecosystems, improve agricultural production, and sequester carbon, in a way that is rooted in the unique needs and challenges of the region.

Learn and inspire

Provide educational resources and opportunities for peer-to-peer learning for producers and ag professionals to share and learn together.

Expand knowledge

Improve understanding of how soil health practices can be successfully implemented in the region through applied research and innovation.

Uplift climate-friendly agriculture as a solution

Advance regional carbon farming efforts to support the role of agriculture as part of the solution to climate change.

Serve our communities

Serve and represent our communities in a way that uplifts and values diverse perspectives, backgrounds, needs, knowledge systems, and visions for the future.

RCDs are local government agencies founded after the 1930’s Dust Bowl to assist farmers and ranchers with soil and water conservation. To read more about RCDs, please visit: https://carcd.org/
